A retaining wall is used to hold back soil, like a slope hillside, to create a planter or to create more usable yard space. Retaining walls can be used to add function and style to your outdoor living space and can be created from many different materials.

Tree roots and buried utilities are an important factor to consider if you’re planning to install retaining walls.

We provide above industry standard bases and footings when necessary and fill behind the walls with 3/4" clear gravel which prevents water becoming trapped behind the walls and allows for adequate drainage.  We also lay landscape fabric behind the wall which prevents soil erosion and stops weeds from growing through the wall.

The materials you may need depend on your specific tastes and the size of the wall needed.  Check out the slide show for just a few possibilities.
